According to FRANK research 20% of young people reckon their mates have tried drugs to look cool so we have teamed up with them to give you the facts about drugs whether or not you think you might take drugs or not. But remember that drugs can be harmful and are illegal. You could face prosecution and go to jail for possession.

Festivals: After last year’s wash-out, this summer’s set to be a scorcher and with so many music festivals it’s easy to over-do it. Don’t feel under pressure to try anything: remember you don’t know what you’re getting. It’s not a great idea to take drugs in new settings where there are large crowds of people. If you do decide to take something: stay with your mates and tell them what you think you’ve taken.

Going on holiday? Even if you take drugs at home think twice about using them abroad. Chances are you won’t be too familiar with where you are and you can never be sure what you are taking. So partying all night could result in a bad drug experience. www.talktofrank.com

SEXUAL HEALTH

Staying Alive is MTV’s global HIV and AIDS prevention campaign. For the past two decades it has challenged stigma and discrimination associated with HIV and AIDS and empowered young people to protect themselves from infection. It has become the world’s largest HIV and AIDS media campaign and working with partners globally continues to give help and support to anyone who has been affected by HIV and AIDS.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Launched in 2007, MTV SWITCH is the first dedicated campaign on climate change for young people. MTV believes that no action – however small – is insignificant when it comes to making a difference to global warming. So try our very own carbon calculator and work out how you can make a difference.

With violence against young people increasing throughout the UK, MTV has teams up with Urban Concepts to provide information and advice regarding this sensitive subject.
